WWE Summerslam 2018 is this weekend, and absolutely loaded up. As of now, it is a 13-match card with 9 title matches. With so much to breakdown, we thought it would be best to cover it in three installments separated into World Title matches for both the men and women. Undercard matches and special attraction matches.
The big show at the Barclays center is only a few days away. We have a lot to cover, so let’s get right to it with installment 1, “Undercard Matches”.
The B Team vs The Revival for the RAW Tag Team Championships
Prediction – Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel have been given some hokey gimmicks over the years, but this one takes the cake. The difference this time is that it works, and works well because it has been organic and played perfectly off the exit of hated heel The Miz. These guys are on a roll and must keep the titles at all costs. They may be the safest pick on the card.
Rusev and Lana vs Cien Almas and Zelina Vega
Prediction – Lana is the sexiest Diva on the roster, and Rusev is over with the crowd, it is about time they re-united these two and listened to the fans. Even with that being said however, Cien Almas is excellent in that ring, and spews heel. Almas and Vega need this win and will get it.
Finn Balor vs Baron Corbin
Prediction – I’ve liked this re-incarnation of Baron Corbins latest gimmick, it has worked well for him. Balor however is really getting slighted here. For him to be so low on the card in a lackluster match such as this, is almost highway robbery. WWE creative has no idea what they have in Balor, and it is frustrating to watch this blue chip star get demoted to matches such as this one. It will be even harder to watch when they make him lose on Sunday night.
Cedric Alexander vs Drew Gulak for the Cruiserweight Title
Prediction -Enzo or not, it is just fun to say “Gaba Gulak”. Alexander is just too good to pick against in that ring however. Taking the champ in this one all the way.
The Bludgeon Brothers vs The New Day for the Smackdown Tag Title
Prediction – Two of the cooler gimmicks in a terrible Smackdown tag team division. They really need to put all the tag teams on one show or this will never work. The Bludgeon Brothers continue to be on a roll and look like legit monsters. The New Day is headed towards a split, (for real this time). Stay with the brothers on this one.
