And now we go to “The Face That Runs The Place” Matt Loede for his preview and predictions. Loede can be reached on twitter at @MattLoede
Tye Dillinger vs Aiden English
Dillinger by Pinfall
The WWE has no reason at this point not to push one of their newest stars in Dillinger, and this is going to be a good way to get him on somewhat of a roll with a win over English, who the company still hasn’t figured out what to do with on his own.
Luke Harper vs Erick Rowan
Rowan by Pinfall
Didn’t I just see this match on SmackDown last week? Now it’s on a PPV, which doesn’t give me much hope it’s going to get much time. Though their match on SmackDown was fun to watch as two big guys who have worked together plenty of times, again this is a mid-card feud with little to get excited about.
Baron Corbin vs Sami Zayn
Corbin by Pinfal
Still trying to figure out if they feel that Corbin is the future and has a title run in them, or if they think he’s more destined to be in the muck of the middle of the pack with the likes of guys like Kalisto, Zayn and Ziggler. I think he wins here, but again the jury is very much out as to what’s next for him and if it’s a positive or negative.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggle
Nakamura by Pinfall
I see this going on last, as the company has been pushing Nakamura’s debut and it’s probably safe to say this is the ‘main event’ of this card. Look for Zig Zag to hang with Nakamura, but in the end it will be Shinsuke going over with his usual big spots and eventually a win. If they want this feud to continue, they should have Ziggler beat him with a chair or something after, but I don’t see them doing that either.
Naomi, Charlotte & Becky Lynch vs Natalya, Tamina & Carmella
Natalya, Tamina & Carmella by Pinfall
The only interesting thing here is the fact that likely Charlotte will abandon her team, leading to an eventual feud with Naomi for the belt. Look for her to walk out on her team and for the heel ladies to get a win, again doing nothing more than leading to a Charlotte-Naomi feud.
Kevin Owens {C} vs AJ Styles for United States Title
Styles by DQ
Will probably be the best match on the card, and it should get 15-20 minutes. Problem is this is going to be another feud that should continue, and while it will have a lot of false finishes, look for eventually Owens to get frustrated not being able to get the win, and in order to save his title he’ll get disqualified to continue the program.
The Uso’s {C} vs Breezango for the Tag Titles
Uso’s by Pinfall
Breezango has been entertaining in their TV time, but in the end the best team on the program is the Uso’s, and they should get over with a win to keep the belts in about 7-8 minutes. It will be interesting to see the crowd react for this match, and if Breezango can hang with the champs.
Randy Orton {c} vs Jinder Mahal for the WWE Heavyweight Championship
Jinder Mahal by DQ
Still not sold the company is going to give Jinder Mahal the belt, but if they are I think it’s not going to happen here. I see a physical match, and again the main question will be if Mahal can hang with a wrestler like Orton and if it can get over with the fans.
Look for 10-12 minutes, a lot of false finishes, and in the end outside interference leading to Orton getting a chair to evening the score, only to lose by DQ but keep the belt.
