Write Down Euclid: Deep in the Q

Andy Varejao

Anderson Varejao is slowly, but surely beginning to make more of an impact off the bench, too.

The “Wild Thing” went four for four from the field against Milwaukee, scoring nine points in eleven minutes, and put up seven points against the Hawks.

Even veteran forward James Jones has had his moments already this season.

Jones is 12 for 27 from three-point range in 14 games this season and when he gets hot it is just one more weapon in the Cavs arsenal.

It is no secret that injuries are the biggest obstacle the Cavs have to overcome between now and May, and the injury history of key players Irving, Love, Mozgov, and Shumpert may be the only flaw in the makeup of this roster.

For now, the Cavs have tackled every challenge the injury-bug has thrown at them, but if it keeps going on like this, GM David Griffin may have to start pulling fans from the crowd to fill out the depth chart.

Williams should be back this week and Tristan can hold the fort down as long as needed, and maybe the most under-appreciated aspect of the makeup of this roster is the bench.

Credit Griffin for realizing the importance of it this offseason and providing a bit of a safety net in case that flaw in the roster comes back to bite them, like it did oh so memorably last season.
