WRESTLEMANIA XII Hollywood Back Lot Brawl
While maybe not the greatest technical match at WrestleMania, this one makes the list because it will never be repeated, and never be forgotten. Goldust had been sexually harassing Rowdy Roddy Piper for months prior, to the point where it would have been wrong for anything but Piper kicking his ass.
The fight started off in a Hollywood back Lot with both men engaging in a fist fight and landing several hard shots. The highlight was Goldust running over Piper with his car. Piper had wet down the entire area with a giant hose, which cut down on the “aerial moves”, but added to the zaniness of the entire situation.
Things would go from the insane to the just plain hokey as both men then engaged in a high-speed chase back to the Anaheim Pond where the rest of the card was taking place. As the crowd at home and in the arena sat through a rather lack luster WrestleMania undercard, they were treated to several highlights of the chase. The only problem being, it wasn’t Piper and Goldust but rather clips from the OJ Simpson ordeal from two years prior.
The spectacle would eventually return to the ring by the end of the night. Both men had several big shots left in their arsenal, landing them in desperate fashion. Piper would get the best of it and win the match by stripping Goldust down to his lingerie. That would be Pipers last night in the WWF as he would leave soon after to join WCW in their battle against the NWO.

I’m intrigued with Vince’s “personal connection” with Bill Belichick. Could Vince elaborate on this?

Good afternoon Will,
I would love to elaborate. Back in 2015 I was working on a book about the Browns from 1985-1995 when they moved the team. I was able to interview almost every single top player on the team during that ERA with the exception of Bernie Kosar. That is when the incident happened, and Bill Belichick came to the rescue of not only myself, but the entire book, allowing it get to get published.
The name of the book is called, “Bernie, Bill & The Browns”. The incident in detail not only with Bernie but then the relationship formed with Belichick is described in in my book “Live To Inspire”. Both great reads! I will post the link for both below. Thanks again for reaching out!
