The hiring of Hue Jackson isn’t the only big news for the Browns today, as ESPN is reporting that as part of the deal to bring Jackson aboard, the team is going to finally do the right thing and ‘move on’ from quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Here’s part of the report from ESPN:
According to a source close to the situation, the topic of Manziel was discussed at length in meetings between Jackson and Browns ownership. In those discussions, Jackson indicated that he would prefer the organization move on from Manziel if he were to become coach, and he was told that would not be a problem.
The ‘would not be a problem’ part sounds very much like the team already had the idea of getting rid of Manziel in mind, not a surprise based on all the outside issues that Manziel has brought to the franchise.
The report goes on to say the team hasn’t been happy with the quarterback since he spent the night before the season finale in Las Vegas, and then as if that wasn’t bad enough, stories of Manziel being in disguise in Vegas came out, making the incident even more bizarre.
Here’s a Video from ESPN chatting about the report the team is ready to move on without Manziel
