The votes have been tallied and it’s time to name this week’s NEOSI Player of the Week. With 50% of the vote, Independence’s Rory Corrigan is your NEOSI Player of the Week.
In the Blue Devils 35-6 win at Wickliffe, the senior RB didn’t need to touch the ball a lot to make his presence felt. Corrigan carried it eight times for 197 yards and three touchdowns, scoring runs of 70, 60, and 42. A 2nd Team All-Ohio member a year ago, Corrigan is turning it on at the right time, as Independence makes a push for the playoffs. The Blue Devils are 3-5 and currently hold the #16 seed in Region 21. This week, they hit the road to take on Lutheran West (7-1).
Congratulations to our other four candidates for turning in dominant performances: Scotty Fox (Mentor), Jack Wojciak (Medina), Danny Stoddard (Medina), and Xzavier Macon (Barberton).
