Yes, hard to believe, but the season moves quickly.
So let’s get you updated on who is leading the various OHSAA Northeast Ohio High School Football Regions and some of the top Northeast Ohio football games we will be following here at NEOSI during week five.
Region 1 (OHSAA Division I)
St. Edward continues to lead Region 1. In addition, they are ranked number one in the statewide AP High School Football Poll, and are also ranked number 10 nationally.
St. Edward travels to Stark County to face Massillon, the number one ranked team in Region 7 (OHSAA Division II).
Both teams are currently undefeated at 4-0.
Last season, Massillon defeated St. Edward, 31-28, in a dramatic comeback victory in the final minute.

Also in Region I, Canton McKinley (2) will face Green, while Wadsworth (3) will take on Brecksville.
Cleveland Heights (4) will host Mentor (6).
Region 5, Region 6, and Region 7 (OHSAA Division II)
Currently leading Region 5 is Riverside.
Trailing Riverside at number two is Hoban who is currently ranked number one in the AP High School Football poll for state of Ohio in Division II.
Riverside (4-0) will host Boardman (1-3) on Friday night while Hoban (4-0) will play St. Ignatius (1-3). Other Northeast Ohio teams ranked highly in Region 5 include Walsh Jesuit (3), Nordonia (4), Hudson (5) and Shaker Heights (6).
One of the top games in Northeast Ohio during Week 5 will take place in Region 6.
Top ranked Avon will face second ranked North Ridgeville on Friday Night.
Massillon is currently ranked number one in Region 7 and will play the top Division I team in the state, St. Edward, in a highly anticipated match up.
Region 9 and Region 10 (OHSAA Division III)
In region nine four teams are currently undefeated at 4-0 including Ursuline (1), Geneva (2), Gilmour (3), and Kenston (4).
One of the top games in Region 9 will be Geneva vs. Perry.
Perry is the number one ranked Division V team in the Ohio High School Football AP Poll.
Also Kenston and Gilmour have exciting matchups against very good football teams this week.
Kenston will play Lake Catholic (3-1) on Thursday night.
Lake Catholic has won three games in a row.
Gilmour will play Villa Angela-St. Joseph on Friday night.
In Region 10, Norton is ranked second, while Buckeye is ranked third.
Norton (4-0) will face Woodridge (2-2) on Friday night and Buckeye (4-0) will face Westlake (4-0) on Friday night.
Region 13 and Region 14 (OHSAA Division IV)
Canton South (1) and Poland Seminary (5) are the only undefeated teams left in region 13.
Canton South will host CVCA (3-1) on Friday night while Poland Seminary travels to Hubbard (3-1).
In Region 14, Glenville (6) travels to Florida to play one of the top high school football teams in the country, IMG Academy.
Region 17 (OHSAA Division V)
In the latest AP Ohio High School Football poll, Perry is ranked number one in Division V.
Perry is also ranked number one in Region 17 followed by Norwayne (2) and Garfield (3). All three teams are undefeated on the season.
Perry will travel to Geneva for a highly anticipated Chagrin Valley Conference Matchup with the Eagles.
Region 21 (OHSAA Division VI)
Rootstown (1), Jackson-Milton (2), and Cuyahoga Heights (3) are all undefeated in this region.
Kirtland (3-1) is currently ranked fourth in this region.
A top game to follow in this region during week five is the Cuyahoga Heights vs. Kirtland game on Friday night.
