Always a tough task, we’ve narrowed it down to four candidates. Now it’s all up to you, the reader. Who do you think should take home NEOSI Week 3 Player of the Week? Vote for your favorite performance below and stay tuned for the reveal! Voting closes Thursday at noon.
Kyle Snider, CVCA
The Royals senior running back has been on a tear to start the 2022 campaign. In Friday’s 35-27 win over Woodridge, Snider carried the ball 24 times for 265 yards and four touchdowns, three of which came in the final frame. On the year, Snider has 60 carries, 611 yards, and eight touchdowns.
Marco Cirigliano, Columbia
In the age of the spread offense, it’s rare to see a running back carry the ball 30 times, let alone 44. Friday night against Northwestern the Raiders junior did just that. In a 42-41 overtime win against the Huskies, Cirigliano ran for 405 yards and four touchdowns. According to MaxPreps, Cirigliano currently ranks 4th in the country with 827 yards.
Lamar Sperling, Hoban
The Week 1 NEOSI POTW, Sperling has continued his dominant start to the season. In a 43-14 rout of Iona Prep (NY), the Knights senior carried the ball 18 times for 241 yards and three touchdowns. The Knights are off to a 3-0 start and have dominated all three of their contests. The Buffalo commit has run for 798 yards and nine touchdowns so far this season.
Collin Dixon, Tallmadge
Heading off to Madison, Wisconsin next season, Dixon has been the focus of every defense the Blue Devils face. In Friday night’s 47-46 victory over Green the senior wide receiver went off, catching the ball 13 times for 197 yards and two touchdowns. His scoring didn’t only come on offense, as Dixon picked off a pass and returned it 96 yards for a touchdown.
