Week 13 POTW Poll: Who Was The Top Performer In The Regional Semifinals?

Week Five

It’s hard to believe, but there are only three weeks left of high school football. Despite cold, rainy conditions over the weekend, this week’s candidates turned in scorching hot performances. We’ve sifted through all the stats and have four nominees for this week’s award. Who do you think deserves to be named NEOSI Player of the Week? Have your voice heard in the poll below! Voting closes Thursday at noon.

Lamar Sperling, Hoban

Another week, another dominant performance for RB Lamar Sperling. The star senior carried the ball 29 times for 286 yards and five touchdowns, 206 yards and four touchdowns coming in the first half of their 47-7 victory over rival St. Vincent St. Mary. Up next for the Knights (12-1) is a regional final showdown with Hudson (13-0) at Twinsburg High School Friday night. 

 

Roderick Love, Padua

The 10th seeded Bruins (8-5) Cinderella run continues onto the regional finals and sophomore Roderick Love is leading the way. In their 35-7 upset over Norton, Love ran for 368 yards and four scores. With a trip to the state semifinals on the line, Padua will square of with #1 seed Holy Name (10-2) at Maple Heights High School Friday.

Rocco Alfieri, Kirtland

The top seed in Region 21, Kirtland (13-0) continued its dominant postseason run with a 33-0 shutout win over Dalton. Leading the way for the Hornets was star junior Rocco Alfieri. Alfieri punished the Bulldogs to the tune of 256 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries. Kirtland takes on #2 seed Mogadore (12-0) Saturday night at Macedonia High School.

 

Mason Williams, Mogadore

Wildcats senior and Ohio University recruit Mason Williams turned in the most efficient performance in Mogadore’s 41-10 win against Cuyahoga Heights. Williams ran for 205 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries to lead the Wildcats to their 12th straight win. Up next for Mogadore is a huge showdown in the regional finals with the Kirtland Hornets (13-0).
