The Rittman Lady Indians came up with a 14-0 run in the first half and never looked back as they defeated the Columbia Lady Raiders 49-35 on Saturday afternoon.
Rittman was led by the steady play of Cora Wilson. The senior guard scored 16 points and did a good job of directing the Indians’ offense. Junior forward Erica Gasser scored 13 points, mostly on solid low post moves. Senior Kenzie Coleman was effective shooting from the outside as she added 10 points to the Rittman total.
Columbia had only one player in double figures, junior guard Serena Goode (10 points). The Raiders were solid on the boards (28-25 rebounding advantage) and got within striking distance of the Indians midway through the third quarter. But Columbia turned the ball over 23 times, derailing their offense on many occasions, and Rittman was able to coast to the finish.
Rittman improved their season record to 3-2, while Columbia lost for the first time, slipping to 4-1.
