Round 1 Cleveland
QB Josh Rosen UCLA
The Browns have to draft a QB with the number one pick. I don’t think Kizer has warranted enough to stick around as the starter in 2018. He leads the league with 15 interceptions and only has six passing touchdowns which puts him last among the starters. Even Blaine Gabbert has as many passing touchdowns as Kizer in eight fewer games. His completion percentage is also dead last at 52.5%. I know he wasn’t set up to succeed but a franchise QB will make your team better.
I think the perfect example was the Indianapolis Colts. They were a double digit win team for nine straight years. They lose Manning for one season and end up with the number one overall pick. They draft Andrew Luck and go back to winning double digit games for three more years in a row. If Kizer was good enough the Browns should have some wins. His inconsistency throwing accurate passes, his struggles in the redzone, and lack of overall development are the most alarming. Of the potential QBs in this draft, Rosen is my current frontrunner.
A three-year starter at UCLA, he has the size and pocket passer ability to succeed in the NFL. His mechanics are the most NFL ready of the bunch and has the potential total package to be a great one as a standard NFL QB.
