Warriors take a 3-0 series lead with 110-102 win over Cavs; three takeaways

1. No answer for KD

Kevin Durant was the difference-maker for Golden State on a night both of the Splash Brothers struggled. He finished with a game-high 43 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists.

His points were pretty well-dispersed throughout the night. He threw in 24 in the first half and 19 in the second. In the second-half, as the Warriors started to close the gap, Durant would be the one who manufactured a ridiculous shot, or who grabbed a crucial board. Even in the first half, he never let his team get too far down despite the Cavs leading by as many as 13.

Much like in Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals, Durant also delivered a fatal blow in the waning minutes of the game, nailing a dagger 33-foot 3-pointer with 49 seconds remaining in the contest that gave the Warriors a six-point lead, 106-100.

“That was amazing what he did out there tonight,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. “Some of those shots I don’t think anyone in the world can hit other than him.”

“You definitely tip your hat,” James said after the game. “I mean, that’s what he does. He’s a scorer. You know, he’s an assassin, and that was one of those assassin plays right there.”
