One of the biggest names in UFC history, Vitor Belfort was set to have his retirement match from MMA tomorrow night against Uriah Hall. That has now been cancelled. Uriah Hall did not show up for weigh ins today and the match for tomorrow night was called off.
Uriah Hall has been nothing but a major disappointment since losing the UFC Ultimate Fighter Season 17 Finale against Kelvin Gastelumn. Hall has been “spotty” at best, winning a few, losing most. He recently snapped a 3 fight losing streak at UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh back in September.
Hall not only rips off the people who bought tickets to see this fight, but also the legend of Vitor Belfort who has been training hard for this clash in hopes to end his legendary career with a walk off win. Belfort has appeared in an MMA cage 40 times since turning pro in 1996.
Belfort collected titles in the UFC during his second stint in the promotion, and challenged for several other titles during his third stint with the UFC. His resume also includes plenty of wins while fighting for the defunct PRIDE and Strikeforce promotions as well.
The UFC has not provided any further comment on the status of Hall with the promotion at this time. Meanwhile, they have moved the Darren Elkins vs Michael Johnson match to the main card.
