Ursuline College will host the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Women’s Basketball Tournament beginning Thursday night, with the Championship Game being played Saturday at 4 PM.
All five games of the tournament will be played at the Seidman Gymnasium inside the Sister Diana Stano Athletic Center on the campus of Ursuline College in beautiful Pepper Pike, Ohio.
This was the first season of basketball at the state-of-the-art facility and the Ursuline Arrows have been dominant at home ever since it opened.
Ursuline owns the #1 seed in the tournament and will receive a first-round bye.
The Arrows went 22-3 overall with a record of 12-2 within the conference.
The first game of the tournament tips off at 5 PM Thursday evening and features #4 Davis & Elkins (11-15, 7-7 G-MAC) vs. #5 Trevecca Nazarene (8-16, 7-7 G-MAC). The winner advances to face Ursuline in the Semi-Finals on Friday at 5 PM.
Immediately following the 4 vs. 5 game, #3 Kentucky Wesleyan (16-9, 5-5 G-MAC) takes on #6 Ohio Valley (7-20, 4-10 G-MAC), which is set to tip-off at 7:30 PM. The winner of that game moves on to face #2 Cedarville on Friday night at 7:30 PM.
Ursuline’s high-powered offense is led by Erica Huber, Laney Lewis, Camryn Hill, Natalie Koenig, Brigan Wymer, and Christiana Jefferson, as their three-point shooting arsenal and great ball movement makes them an exciting team to watch.
The winner of the tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Championship Midwest Regional.
Tickets to the G-MAC Tournament are $7 and admission is free with Student ID.
