During practice on Wednesday Browns rookie defensive end and No.1 draft pick, Myles Garrett sustained an apparent ankle injury.
On Thursday the Cleveland Browns issued the following press release with an update on the condition of Garrett:
Myles Garrett has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. His status will be updated in a couple weeks.
With the organization stating that Garrett’s status will be updated in a couple weeks, they also announced that he would miss at least 2 weeks. The Browns rookie defensive end will miss week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and will also miss week 2 when the Browns face the Baltimore Ravens.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, a high ankle sprain usually puts a player out of action for 4-6 weeks.
