If the nerves and excitement weren’t already at an all time high for the St. Ignatius football team, they are now as UFC heavyweight Champion and North East Ohio resident Stipe Miocic dropped by practice today to speak with the team. This comes one night before their showdown with St. Xavier tomorrow night from Columbus.

Stipe is no stranger to the big moment, as he started the Cleveland championship run earlier this year back on May 14 when he knocked out then UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdumn in his hometown of Brazil.
It then set off a chain of events in Cleveland sports that have made this the greatest year in Cleveland Sports History. It wasn’t too long after that when the Lake Erie Monsters won the Calder Cup.
A week after that, it was the Cleveland Cavaliers winning the NBA Championship and bringing the first major Cleveland Championship back home since the 1964 Cleveland Browns.
It all started with Stipe, so it’s only right that he was there today to address the team. Can the Wildcats cap off the biggest year in Cleveland sports with another title? We shall all find out tomorrow night!
