This should be good.
These two fighters, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Michael Johnson, are both looking to prove why they are the top contender in the lightweight division.
Nurmagomedov is 23-0, and though that should speak for itself as to why he’s the rightful number one contender, it’s kind of tricky. Nurmagomedov had been out of action for two years until his fight with Darrell Horcher earlier this year. For someone who hasn’t competed as frequently as others, that could be his only problem when it comes to calling shots. Nurmagomedov is looking to solidify his spot as next in line and to do so, he’ll have to go through Michael Johnson
Michael Johnson looked like a completely different fighter against Dustin Poirier. In his last fight before that, he had trouble with Nate Diaz and ultimately lost via unanimous decision. He removed all doubt when Poirier and himself locked up, knocking Poirier out in the first round. Johnson is a extremely dangerous striker, so this could be where he makes his mark.
I think Khabib Nurmagomedov wins this fight over Michael Johnson by unanimous decision.
