MANCHESTER, England – This Saturday night, October 8, 2016 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England current UFC Middleweight Champ Michael the Count Bisping will get his chance at redemption against old rival Dan Henderson.
The drama will be at an all time high considering it is Bispings first title defense of a belt he long coveted and few thought he could achieve. Adding some spice to the crazy dish of emotions and drama will be the fact that is also Dan Henderson’s final fight of a long career.
These men have history as no one who saw can forget UFC 100 when Dan Henderson landed one of the most impressive knockouts in MMA history when he knocked Bisping out cold.
Since then however, Henderson never quite fulfilled his potential after the brutal knockout. Henderson left the UFC soon after, defecting to Strikeforce where he captured their Light Heavyweight Title. He defeated the famed Fedor Emelianenko while there as well as Renato Sobral and Rafeal Cavalcante by knockout.
He returned to the UFC shortly there after but has been anything but pretty. He is 4 -6 in 10 fights, and has been knocked out 3 times, and submitted once during that stretch. He has also shown traces of having a glass chin.
Can Bisping avenge a devastating loss from 2009 that has stuck with him in infamy for the last 8 years, or does Dan Henderson truly have his number and will he end his career on top? Only time will tell!
Stay tuned later this week, as Vince McKee and Eli Moon team up to tackle the top matches on the card!
