DETROIT– Indians outfielder Tyler Naquin will reportedly seek a second opinion on his right hip.
Per MLB.com’s Jordan Bastian, manager Terry Francona said during his Sunday pregame availability that Naquin is dealing with a “stress reaction” in his hip, similar to an issue he dealt with in 2015. He will reportedly get a second opinion from Dr. Bryan Kelly in New York.

The Indians officially placed Naquin on the 10-day disabled list on Saturday. They also recalled Adam Plutko from Class Triple-A Columbus.
Naquin is batting .264 (46-for-174) with 10 extra-base hits (three homer runs) and 23 RBI in 61 games for Cleveland this year. This is his second stint on the DL in 2018, the first being from May 12-June 14 when he suffered a left hamstring strain.
Losing Naquin for any amount of time is a tough break for Cleveland, as the team was already thin on outfielders. With the trade deadline looming, it arguably puts even more of an emphasis on acquiring another outfielder in the coming days.
