3. Reds Lineup Impresses Again
The Cincinnati Reds got out to a scorching hot start to the season, but have fallen back to Earth in recent weeks.
However, their lineup has been consistent all year, especially in the top half of the order.
Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a run scored and now has 32 runs and 23 stolen bases in only 41 games.
Zack Cosart entered the day fourth in the National League in batting average (.348) and went 1-for-4, driving in two runs.
Joey Votto (.293) is hitting like he did a few years ago, and went 1-for-4 with a double on the day.
Adam Duvall drove in a run, but even some of the bottom hitters in the lineup had a big day.
Scott Schebler belted a solo shot – his 13th home run of the year – and Tucker Barnhart went 2-for-3 with a double.
The Reds were expected to have a rough season and their pitching staff is starting to look more like people envisioned, but their offense is not a fluke and it’s good enough to keep them in a lot of games this year.
