The North East Grape Pickers traveled from Pennsylvania to take on Lutheran East in Cleveland Heights on Friday afternoon.
Certainly, the two hour trip did not disappoint North East’s fans as the Grape Picker’s star receiver Jamari Curlett dominated the game.
With four receiving touchdowns, Curlett led North East to a 31-0 victory over Lutheran East.
Although Curlett dominated the game, he was extremely appreciative of how well his teammates worked together to achieve victory.
“We just took a “W” today, I am happy, I am excited,” said Curlett. “I had four touchdowns today, so that’s great. I just want to say thank you to the O-Line because without them I literally get (no yards). And the quarterback just putting the ball in the right place, and just throwing the ball to me in the right spot (was very important).
The North East Grape Pickers scored 17 first half points.
Curlett scored his first touchdown of the game on a 33- yard touchdown run as the Grape Pickers took a 7-0 lead.
After a 31 yard field goal, Curlett caught a 24-yard touchdown pass with 2:21 left in the second quarter as North East took a 17-0 lead.
