QB Andy Dalton CIN
Like Stafford, Dalton will be without a lot of his top targets from last year. Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones are both gone and Tyler Eifert will miss the beginning of the season due to an injury. Dalton finally had his best year as a pro last year but missing a lot of top targets is going to make it hard to repeat. You also can’t underestimate how much of an impact losing Hue Jackson will have for the Bengals there too. Dalton improved each year under him. I’m expecting the offense to go through the running backs and Dalton to be somewhere in the middle for fantasy numbers.
RB Latavius Murray OAK
Murray had a perfect chance to become the sole feature back for Oakland in a post Darren McFadden world but he didn’t. Despite getting a lot of carries, Murray never flashed last year, leaving the door open for the team to draft DeAndre Washington. If he puts up more mediocre stats this year he won’t be worth the spot at which most people will draft him and Washington can cut into his carries.
RB Arian Foster MIA
Everyone is excited to see Arian Foster back but I’m not buying into him. While the Dolphins have a new offense, they didn’t run the ball much last year with one of the best backs in the NFL even though he put up big plays week after week. Foster is among the older backs in the NFL at 30 years old and his health has always been a scare. He’s only played in 25 games the last three seasons. Another injury could be the end of the line for him.
