Cleveland- Sunday afternoon has been a busy one for the Cleveland Cavaliers, first a coaching change and now an update on All-Star forward Kevin Love. Unfortunately for Cavs fans, the Marc Stein report makes things even bleaker. Stein of the New York Times reported this afternoon that a firm timetable on Love’s is not expected Monday or Tuesday of this week.
As you can see in Marc Stein’s tweet the Cavaliers are even considering the idea of resting Love for an extended period of time to allow his foot to completely heel. Love’s absence most likely means an increased role for both Sam Dekker who made his first start as a Cavalier last night, and Larry Nance Jr who has been splitting time with Tristian Thompson at the C position. There will be more news on this as it gets reported, so stay tuned as the Cavaliers begin a new era.
Love missed time this preseason as he was dealing with foot soreness then, and the problem has unfortunately persisted. The Cavaliers course of action right now is to determine what the best and more speedy recovery for Love.
