Derrick Brunson is for real folks!
Fresh off of being robbed by the judges in a loss to Anderson Silva, Derrick Brunson used Saturday night to remind everyone he is absolutely a threat in the middleweight division.
It only took him 1:26 to put away Dan Kelly with ease. This was no cupcake opponent for Brunson either, Kelly was coming off of an impressive victory over Rashad Evans.
It’s hard to argue with Brunson not being a legitmate title contender. When you look at his total body of work since coming to the UFC. His only losses are to the top men in the division, along with a crooked decision to a firt ballot Hall of Famer in Anderson “Spider Silva. He is 8-3 in his UFC career with wins over the likes of Uriah Hall and Chris Leben. His only losses came against the forementioned Silva, and top contenders Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker. Two men about to fight for the intermin title.
Derrick Brunson has speed, power, agilty and experience all on his side. And now, following that Silva robbery, he has a chip on his shoulder to go along with it. As he showed against Kelly. It will be interesting to see where Brunson can go from here.
