2.) Cavaliers Bench Looked Strong
This season the Cavaliers are taking a different approach. If you watched the game last night you would have noticed that Tristan Thompson was not in the starting lineup, and that was planned.
Kevin Love was the starting Center, and newly acquired Jae Crowder was starting at Power Forward.
Along with Thompson not starting, JR Smith was not in the starting lineup either. Dwayne Wade is now your starting Shooting Guard, which leaves Smith coming off of the bench.
The Cavaliers have two starters from their 2016-17 roster coming off of the bench this year. Thompson and Smith can provide either way and you can expect those two players to add a spark coming off of the bench with their scoring and rebounding respectively.
Add in the factor that Rose will also be coming off of the bench once Thomas returns and you have a fantastic bench with those three players alone.
Last night the Cavs bench only scored 25 points but you can expect the bench to come along as the season goes as a few players are still adjusting to coming off of the bench.
Coming off of the Cavs bench last night was Jeff Green, Thompson, Iman Shumpert, Kyle Korver, and Smith. All of those players that were just named were starters on other teams at one point.
Cleveland Browns Quarterback DeShone Kizer even tweeted the following out regarding the Cavs bench:
The cavs bench might be able to make the playoffs in the east by themselves
