What a weekend of football here in Northeast Ohio! Let’s get you caught up because there is a lot to talk about.
Region I (OHSAA Division I)
St. Edward continued their dominance on Saturday as they beat their third out of state opponent of the season, Rock Creek Christian, 42-14. With the victory, St. Edward took over the top spot in the Region One rankings.

Also, in this region, Cleveland Heights edged out Hudson, 34-31. Cleveland Heights is now ranked second behind St. Edward.
Ian Ludewig gained 164 yards on the ground for Hudson and had one touchdown.
Cleveland Heights was led by running back Marquise Davis who ran for four touchdowns. In fact, Davis ran for a 60 yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Davis, who has an offer from Ohio State, also had a 93 yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Also, in Region One Canton McKinley Defeated Dublin Coffman, 24-14 and Medina defeated Wadsworth 40-23.
Medina was led by quarterback Danny Stoddard who threw for 366 yards and also ran for 82 yards. In addition, Stoddard threw for 4 touchdowns.
Stoddard threw all four touchdown passes to Austin Knowles who had six catches for 173 yards on the night.
Region 5 (OHSAA Division II)
Riverside takes over the top spot in Region 5 as they defeated Mentor, 34-31.
Mikey Maloney scored the game winning touchdown for Riverside with 40 seconds left to go in the game. Check out Maloney’s highlights below.

Also, in this region, Walsh Jesuit, Nordonia, Hoban, and Shaker Heights all remain undefeated after Week Three. Nordonia defeated Mayfield, 35-14 and Walsh Jesuit won 48-14 over St. Francis DeSales.

Walsh Jesuit was led by Brock Sherman who scored two touchdowns and Lucas Weaver who also had two touchdowns.
Also, Shaker defeated Solon, 53-27.
Shaker was led by junior running back Cornell Beard who had 284 yards and ran for five touchdowns.
Region 6 (OHSAA Division II)

Also undefeated and highly ranked in Region Six include North Ridgeville, Westlake, and Olmsted Falls.
North Ridgeville defeated North Royalton, 20-17 on a last second field goal.

Olmsted Falls defeated the 2022 defending State champions, Canfield, 42-14. Westlake defeated Warrensville Heights, 35-34.
Region 9 (OHSAA Division III)
Lots of excitement in Region 9 this season. Holding down the top spot is Ursuline, who defeated Lakeside, 50-0.
Also, the Kavcic’s from Gilmour helped their team move up to the second spot in Region 9 as they helped Gilmour get a 41-10 victory over Hawken.
Jake and Andy practically scored all of Gilmour’s touchdowns.

Also, remaining undefeated in region 9 was Kenston who defeated Chagrin Falls 55-7.
Sean Patrick had 141 yards rushing on 10 carries, and 4 touchdowns for the Bombers. Patrick also caught a 50 yard touchdown pass in the Bombers victory.
Region 13 (OHSAA Division IV)
The big game in this region was the Streetsboro vs. Alliance matchup.
Streetsboro won 37-28 and is now in the top spot in Region 13. In a wild 4th quarter, the Rockets came back from being down 28-14.
In the final 9 minutes of the contest, Streetsboro scored 23 unanswered points to get the victory.

Hopperton had another great game for Streetsboro as he rushed for 207 yards against Alliance. For the season in three games, Hopperton has gained 592 yards and scored 13 total touchdowns.
Region 17 (OHSAA Division V)
One of the biggest upsets in Northeast Ohio occurred in Division V and VI. The Perry Pirates ended Kirtland’s 57 game regular season winning streak.
Perry took an 8-0 lead in the first half when they completed a 94-yard touchdown pass from Walter Moses to Brayden Richards.
Perry scored their final touchdown of the night to make the final score 24-6 when Walter Moses found Luke Sivon open for a 38-yard touchdown pass.
Also, in this region staying undefeated at 3-0 was Norwayne who defeated Heath 38-25. Norwayne took a 28-0 first half lead.
Jaxon Siegenthaler led Norwayne throwing for 311 yards and three touchdowns in the victory over Heath.
Catching many of Siegenthaler’s passes for Norwayne was Dylan Smith who caught six passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.
Lucas Dudte also had two touchdowns for Norwayne including catching an 83 yard touchdown pass.
In addition, Garfield remains undefeated in Region 17 as they got a 52-13 victory over Normandy. To watch a replay of Garfield vs. Normandy game go to the following link.

Region 21 (OHSAA Division VI)
Mineral Ridge remains in the top spot of the region at 3-0 as they defeated St. Thomas Aquina, 42-6.
Also, Rootstown is currently in the second spot in the region as they defeated Field, 14-7.
Rootstown running back Dawson Morgan had another great game.
In three games this season, Morgan has run for 789 yards and averaged 263 yards per game while collecting 10 touchdowns.
