The NEOSI Staff Answers Five Questions About Super Bowl 50

Carolina Panthers Practice

5. Who will take home the Vince Lombardi trophy? Final score? MVP?

Paul Williams: It is very tough to go against the perfect ending for Peyton but I just can’t get past how good the Panthers are playing. In a game that should stay close and relatively low scoring, I have the Panthers pulling this out 24-17. The M.V.P. will be awarded to Cam Newton after a few years of relatively unknowns winning it, the star player will take home this year’s award.

Brandon Urasek: Carolina 31-17. Carolina is the better team here and they should win. Denver has a good defense so the game stays in check, but Manning is bound to make a bad throw or one of the running backs fumbles that sets up Carolina for an easy score. Denver may be able to put up some points but they don’t have the skills to put up lots. I expect Carolina to get out early and then the score maintains that way for the remainder of the game with Cam Newton bringing home not only the NFL MVP but Super Bowl MVP too.

Matt Medley: Panthers 28-20. Manning can’t get it done against elite Carolina defense. Broncos defense is on the field too much. Cam busts out a few big runs and continues his dominant season with at least one rushing TD and two passing TDs. Cam Newton is Super Bowl MVP.

Mike Perry: As much as I would like to pick the Broncos, Carolina has far too many weapons. I like the Panthers, 42-24 with Greg Olsen taking home the MVP trophy.

Adrienne Goehler: Carolina Panthers. They’ve been way too good this season and the bond they’ve created is holding these guys together like glue. They’re having fun and it’s translating to dominating victories and allowing them to pull together when needed on the field. Final score – Panthers 38 Broncos 27. Cam Newton.
