Browns Record: 10-6
For the Browns, success this season is entirely dependent on where they stand by the end of Week 9. The opening half of their schedule is brutal, with two prime-time games away from Cleveland, as well as back-to-back road bouts against New England and Denver. Things soften up a bit after that, so provided they’re still standing, the table is set for a strong finish. A competitive AFC North should result in a 10-6 record being good for a wild card berth, but I think we’re still a year away from seeing the Browns as a legit Super Bowl contender.
Super Bowl LIV: Saints over Patriots
The Saints get the Super Bowl trip they so loudly believe they should’ve had last year. On the flip side, New England has made three straight Super Bowls, and four of the past five. At this point, it feels impossible to bet against Tom Brady in his fight vs. Father Time until proven otherwise. That said, making it is as far I see the Pats getting this time, as New Orleans comes out on top.
MVP: Pat Mahomes
Mahomes’ spent his first year as a starting QB lighting defenses ablaze with 50 touchdowns, while also perfecting the no-look pass. Very few teams seemed to have any idea how to stop him. I’m betting on him going back-to-back, bringing home another MVP trophy before dust settles onto the one he nabbed last year.
