Browns Record: 9-7
While winning nine games two years after going without a win is a monster accomplishment, there’s still something that tells me 2019 is going to have a lot of ups and downs. The Browns are chock full of talent, but they still have issues on the offensive line, the depth for the team as a whole isn’t there, and having both a rookie kicker and punter easily could cost them 1-2 games. Still, this is a very good team and should only be getting better, but don’t print those playoff and Super Bowl tickets just yet, it could be still 1-2 years away from being a reality.
Super Bowl Pick: Cowboys over Chiefs
Stealing a pick from the Sporting News (minus the fact they had the Chiefs winning it all), I like what Jason Garrett and the Cowboys have build in Dallas, and now that Zeke is a happy man with a new contract, the sky is the limit for the franchise. Kansas City will finally do what they came oh so close to doing last year which is beating the Pats in the AFC Title Game, but in the end I think they fall short to Dak, Zeke and Amari and in a 31-28 thriller the Cowboys hoist another Lombardi trophy.
MVP: DeShaun Watson
While it’s easy to pick Pat Mahomes or Drew Brees for this honor, I think that, if healthy, this season could easily belong to DeShaun Watson and the Texans, who will breeze to the AFC South Title now that Andrew Luck has walked away from the game. Watson has been hit hard with injuries, but showed flashes over his first two seasons why he can be the QB of tomorrow, and it will be fun to see the back and forth with he and Mahomes all season.
