The Indians fell to the Texas Rangers, 5-4, on Tuesday afternoon in Arlington, wrapping up the 2019 Spring Training slate.
The next time they take the field, it will be for real on Thursday in Minnesota against the Twins to start the 2019 season.
Carlos Santana wrapped up his spring hitting .397 (25-for-63) with 4 doubles, 4 homers and 13 RBI, which included a two-out RBI single in the 3rd inning this afternoon.
The Indians scored a pair of runs in the 4th on an RBI single by Eric Stamets and a bases-loaded walk to Greg Allen.
Mike Clevinger started, allowing two earned runs over 3.0 innings as Indians bullpen arms Tyler Olson, Jon Edwards, and Brad Hand added scoreless outings.
The game’s 9th inning began with a runner placed on second base to begin the inning, with the Rangers capitalizing with a walk-off, RBI single to end the final spring contest.
The Indians will hold an optional work out tomorrow, Wednesday, March 27 in Minneapolis at 2pm and will open the 2019 season the following day at 4:10pm.
Corey Kluber will make his fifth consecutive Opening Day start against righty Jose Berrio for the Twins.
