Texas Rangers One Game Away From Winning World Series – Defeat Diamondbacks 11-7

The Texas Rangers are one game away from becoming the 2023 World Series Champions.

On Tuesday night the Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, 11-7.

The Texas Rangers started the game fast and furiously by scoring five runs in the top of the second and five runs in the top of the third to take a 10-0 lead.

To the Diamondbacks credit, they did not give up. They scored one run in the fourth, four in the eighth, and two in the ninth to make the final score 11-7.

Leading the Rangers to victory at the plate were Josh Jung (3-5; double), Travis Jankowski (2-4; double and 2RBI), Corey Seager (2-5; home run and 2 RBI), and Marcus Semien (2-5; triple, home run, and 5RBI).

As Seager again was one of the leaders at the plate in Game 4, he became only the second shortstop in MLB history to hit a home run in consecutive World Series games. Derek Jeter was the only other shortstop to hit home runs in two consecutive World Series games.

So far, in this World Series, 3 out of four of Seager’s hits have been home runs.

In addition, leading the Rangers in the 2023 World Series is Josh Jung who is hitting .375.

After the game Marcus Semien was asked what it feels like to be one game away from winning the World Series.

He emphasized that it is very exciting, but that the Rangers have to stay focused on what they need to do to be successful. “I mean, it’s huge,” said Semien “This is where we want to be. It’s a one-game-at-a-time mentality. We get some rest tonight, and understand that we need to focus on what we need to do to win the ball game, and that’s all there is to it. We win the ball game, we get a ring, of course. But you need to think about the process of how to get that done — good defense, good pitching, timely hitting, two-out RBIs. Those things that we did the last two nights we need to continue.”

The Rangers will try to stay focused on the process as they try to win the World Series tonight in Arizona.

First pitch is at 8:03 pm EST and can be seen on Fox.
