If I were to tell you a few years ago that Terrelle Pryor, the once sensational Ohio State quarterback would be an NFL bust, you probably would have disagreed. If I told you he is perfecting his wide receiver craft and had an incredible Training Camp at his old college, you probably would have looked at me funny.
The other day Pryor and the Browns practiced at the Ohio State University football field. The familiar territory for Pryor might have motivated the young athlete to have a huge day, catching several passes and earning a 75-yard touchdown from quarterback Josh McCown.

His tall body frame and quickness off the ball will make him a really great goal-line receiver. Just look at this perfect pass from Robert Griffin III to Pryor for the touchdown.

While this “project” was first deemed a potential failure, the quarterback turned receiver, looks primed to take over as a starting receiver on the Cleveland Browns. In my honest opinion, if he makes the 53-man roster, he will become the next Antwaan Randel-El.
Randel-El was a quarterback in college who turned receiver and was used many times to open up the game with special “gadget” plays. If you remember he threw a touchdown to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward in Super Bowl XL.
When you have an athlete that has a cannon of an arm like Pryor, the sky is the limit when it comes to the gadget plays as a receiver. If he continues to impress his coaches and teammates, his roster spot should be determined before the last preseason game.
Pryor will be an interesting athlete to watch this upcoming season. Let’s hope that he continues to perfect his receiving craft and makes the roster.
