Strongsville to Name Lou Cirino as New Football Coach

According to a source close to the situation, Strongsville High School will approve Lou Cirino as new head football coach at a special board meeting Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Cirino spent seven seasons as head coach at West Geauga, going 47-28, making three playoff appearances. West Geauga went 6-4 in 2016.

Cirino replaces Larry Laird, who stepped down after his third season with Strongsville.

Strongsville looks to bounce back after a rough 2-8 season, and has finished above .500 only one time in the last six years.

The Mustangs were a perennial playoff team through the 1990’s and early 2000’s, but haven’t won a playoff game since 2008.
