BEREA, OHIO – Strongsville made all of the big plays and used a swarming defense to overwhelm Berea-Midpark 41-13 in a non-league matchup of OHSAA Division One schools.
It was a perfect weather night for the season opener with clear skies and temperatures in the 70’s.
Senior running back Garret Clark led the Mustangs in rushing with 163 yards. He was a one-man highlight reel as he scored on touchdown runs of 64, 40, and 40 yards again.
Strongsville amassed a 35-0 lead by the end of the third quarter.
Berea-Midpark came back with two fourth-quarter touchdowns to close the gap, but the outcome was never in doubt.
Strongsville’s Mitch Dutton was the leading receiver in the game with 6 catches for 38 yards. He also had a third quarter 13-yard touchdown run.
