The Stow-Munroe Falls Lady Bulldogs defeated The Magnificat Blue Streaks 68-33 in a non-conference home game to start the season on Wednesday night.
The Lady Bulldogs were dominate from the start, as they took a 19-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 32-12 lead at the end of the 1st half. The story of the first half and the game was Stow’s depth. Teresa Parr and Emily Andrassy lead the way with 18 points and 12 points, but every girl that dressed contributed in the win.
Magnificat’s Leah Becker and Asia McAuliffe did their best, but couldn’t overcome Stow’s talent and execution on offense as the final score was 68-33.
After the game, Stow-Munroe Falls Head coach Bob Podges spoke of the depth of his team being a strength moving forward.
“It’s a strength as we go forward. As you may have noticed we had four kids sitting on the bench in street clothes and those four kids are key contributors.”
Coach Podges went on to also say that he felt the key to victory was his team learning to be patient on offense. “We’re a pretty good half court offense when we’re all on the same page.”
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 1-1 on the season and will travel to play North Royalton December 2nd at 2:30p and The Blue Streaks drop to 0-2 and will travel to play Notre Dame Academy at the same day and time.
