Bloomquist Wins Dream
Scott Bloomquist took the lead on lap 55 and didn’t give it up, winning his 7th $100,000 Dirt Late Model Dream Saturday at Eldora Speedway. Bloomquist, who started Saturday night’s main event in the 7th position also won one of the two preliminary 25-lap, $5,000 to win features on Thursday night.
Stephens “Super” At Lorain County Speedway
Talon Stephens captured the MSA main event Saturday night at Lorain County Speedway. The Ravenna native and defending series champion also won the series opener on May 13th at Sandusky Speedway. MSA is right back to work Friday night as they join the Winged Super Sprints at Toledo Speedway for The 17th Annual “Fastest Short Track Show In The World.”
Tifft In Top Ten
Despite starting 31st Hinckley native Matt Tifft was able to drive to a 10th place finished Saturday at Pocono Raceway. Tifft has strung together a pair of top-ten finishes in as many weeks. Tifft and the rest of the NASCAR Xfinity Series visit Michigan this weekend.
Winners At Midvale
Alex Rosenberry in late models, Mike Bowers in modifieds, Gabe Pringle in street stocks and Britt Vanmeter in compacts were victorious Saturday night at Midvale Speedway.
Duncan Does It At Wayne County
Cole Duncan captured the checkered flag Saturday night at Wayne County Speedway with the Ohio Sprint Car Series. The win for the defending series champion was the first of 2017.
Ohio Sprint Speedweek Starts Friday
The 35th annual event will kick off Friday night at Attica Raceway Park. Featuring Arctic Cat All Star Sprint Series regulars, local stars and some big names the annual event is a must-see for sprint car fans. Rico Abreu has committed to run multiple events including the opener Friday night at Attica, at Eldora Speedway Saturday, Waynesfield Raceway Park on Sunday and Sharon Speedway on Tuesday. One year ago there were seven different winners in the eight races. More on Ohio Sprint Speedweek later this week.
