Standout Northeast Ohio High School Football Players Justin Hardee and Chris Glaser Return Home with New York Jets to Play in Hall of Fame Game

The Cleveland Browns will play the New Jets in the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday night at 8pm.

Two players, Justin Hardee and Chris Glaser, who you may remember following here in Northeast Ohio during their high school careers, are returning to play in the Hall of Fame Game as members of the New York Jets.

Justin Hardee’s Football Career

Justin Hardee, a 2012 alum of Ginn Academy, played football at Glenville for National High School Football Hall of Fame Coach Ted Ginn.

During this past off-season, Hardee returned to Cleveland to present his former high school football coach, Ted Ginn, with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission Lifetime Achievement Award.

After completing his high school career, Hardee played football at the University of Illinois.

While at the University of Illinois, Hardee started his senior year at wide receiver and finished second on the team in total yards receiving.

Hardee then played for the New Orleans Saints from 2017-2020.  With the Saints, Hardee was moved to the defensive side of the ball and became a cornerback in the NFL.

After playing his first three seasons with the Saints, Hardee has spent the previous two seasons with the New Jets.

With the Jets, Hardee has become a top NFL defensive back. In fact, he made the 2022 NFL All-Pro Team along with Travis Kelce, also a former Northeast Ohio High School Standout.

Chris Glaser’s Football Career

In addition to Hardee, former Solon Comet football player Chris Glaser will also be participating in the Hall of Fame Game with the New York Jets.

In 2016, NEOSI writer Rob Trautman covered Glaser and the Solon Comets when they won the Greater Cleveland Conference (GCC) with a 51-43 victory over Medina.

At the time, Solon running back Thomas Wilks acknowledged the play of Glaser and the offensive line in the success Solon had during the 2016 season.

NEOSI writer Rob Trautman quoted Solon running back Thomas Wilk’s statement after Solon won the GCC.

Wilks said at the time, “I give everything to my O-Line they opened up holes and I ran threw it. I give all the credit to, Nate Westrich, Zach Beder, Chris Glaser, Maurice Ashford, and Yusek Russell.”

After playing football at Solon, Glaser played football at the University of Virginia.

At the University of Virginia, Glaser started at Offensive Guard during the 2020 and 2021 football seasons.

After college, Glaser spent the 2022 season in the NFL with the New Jets.

So when watching the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday night look for former Northeast Ohio High School standouts, Justin Hardee and Chris Glaser who will be representing the New York Jets.

Justin Hardeee’s number is 34, while Chris Glaser’s number is 64.
