CLEVELAND– St. Ignatius topped the John Marshall Lawyers on Thursday night, 76-44.
The first couple minutes of the game were going okay for both teams, but then Ignatius heated up and couldn’t miss a shot. The Wildcats ended the quarter up, 24-9.
At the start of the second quarter, Marshall caught a break and went on a little run. That was snapped when Ignatius countered with a run of their own. It was especially hard for Marshall to defend an Ignatius team with more height. With 2:30 left in the first half, the Wildcats picked up their defense even more and went up 24, 40-16.
The Lawyers tried to pick up there intensity with smothering defense but it wouldn’t put much of a dent in the Ignatius lead. The Wildcats were still up 25 at the end of the third quarter.
The fourth quarter allowed the Wildcats to seal their win, getting to the free throw line.
