Last year’s match went down to the wire, as the rivalry games tend to do, and St. Ed’s defeated Ignatius 35-28, ending the Wildcats’ playoff hopes.
The back-to-back defending Division I State Champion St. Edward Eagles went 14-1 in 2015 and will look to repeat for a third-straight year. It will be Head Coach Tom Lombardo’s second season since taking over the reigns.
Chuck Kyle’s Wildcats are hoping to bounce back after a rough 5-4 season and they will have revenge on their minds when they play at the home of the Cleveland Browns on the shores of Lake Erie.
Ignatius leads the head-to-head rivalry 28-24 with one tie in 53 meetings, but Ed’s has been the dominant football team in the entire state of Ohio in recent years.

This is not a “war” but a skirmish – neither team will schedule State Champion BENEDICTINE! (chicken sound here)
