St. Edward Eagles Score 21 Points in Second Half to Fly Past Good Counsel – St. Edward Now Ranked 11th in Nation

What a great two weeks for the St. Edward Football Program!

Last week, the Eagles defeated the number one ranked high school football team in the state of Indiana, Center Grove, by a score of 27-10.

This week, on Sunday, the Eagles flew past the number two ranked team in the state of Maryland, Good Counsel, with 21 unanswered second half points.

On Sunday, the St. Edward Eagles got on the scoreboard first, when senior Eddie Andrews recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead with 7:40 left in the first quarter.  

Good Counsel would then tie the game at 7-7 in the first quarter when University of Wisconsin commit Dilin Jones put Good Counsel on the scoreboard with a 9-yard touchdown run with 1:55 left in the first quarter.

Tied at 7-7 going into the third quarter, St. Edward scored 14 points in the third quarter to pull  away from Good Counsel.

In the third quarter, Davidson commit, St. Edward quarterback Casey Bullock had a five yard touchdown run. After the extra point, St. Edward was up 14-7 with 4:39 left in the third quarter.

St. Edward then got another touchdown when Josh Groudle scored from 1 yard out as St. Edward went up 21-7 with 1:08 left in the third quarter.

The Eagles added a final touchdown in the fourth quarter when Casey Bullock threw a touchdown pass to Brian Sullivan with 8:01 left in the game to put St. Edward up 28-7.

St. Edward next plays on Saturday, when they take on Rock Creek Christian Academy from Maryland at First Federal Lakewood Stadium at 3pm.
