The Sunday Night Football matchup that’s been 11 years in the making between the Browns and Rams lost some luster this week with the injury bug purging the Browns locker room. They will take the field tonight without their entire starting secondary, no Christian Kirksey in the second level and no David Njoku or Rashard Higgins on offense. Not ideal for a showdown with the defending NFC Champions. Besides the injuries, the Browns haven’t exactly lived up to the hype through the first two weeks. Some people think Freddie Kitchens has been saving his best play calling for this one – a silly concept – but he’s certainly going to have to be more creative than he’s been the first few weeks. Not only that but he HAS to get Nick Chubb more involved. Baker Mayfield has also been disappointing so far this season and a third lackluster outing may have people buying into the QB sophomore slump theory. If the Browns are going to win it will likely have to be in a shootout. But with all the injuries on defense I have a hard time taking the Browns. Nothing bad about losing to the defending NFC Champs.
Rams 31, Browns 21
