Running Backs: This will be a very interesting training camp battle. Isaiah Crowell is gone from last year’s team, but Duke Johnson remains. He will most likely be the third down running back, especially because of his receiving skills. The most interesting battle will be between Carlos Hyde and rookie Nick Chubb.
Hyde the newly signed veteran from San Francisco is is a very good back with not much mileage on his body but holding off Chubb will be a challenge. The rookie running back will give the veteran all he can handle in this battle.
Starter Prediction: Nick Chubb
Wide Receiver: The top 2 receivers are settled. Josh Gordon will be the number 1 and Jarvis Landry will be the number 2 receiver. After Gordon and Landry things get very interesting. The Browns will be returning Corey Coleman, Ricardo Lewis and Rashard Higgins. They also signed speedy veteran wide receiver and special teams ace Jeff Janis from Green Bay.
The Browns also have two draft picks in Antonio Callaway and Damion Rately. Expect Jeff Janis to mostly contribute on on special teams. I think the real battle is for the third spot between Corey Coleman and Antonio Callaway. Higgins and Lewis haven’t proven to be much more than 4th and 5th wideouts. Perhaps with better quarterback play they will prove to be more valuable, but I expect Coleman and Callaway to be ahead of both.
3rd WR Prediction: Corey Coleman
