5. Farmer may have a job to save:
It’s pretty safe to say that Ray Farmer’s seat is getting red-hot. His four-game suspension for texting offensive coaches last year was bad enough. However, his first draft is being roundly criticized – third-rounder Terrence West was given to the Titans, first-rounder Justin Gilbert hasn’t been activated once this season, and Manziel was largely considered a bust before McCown took a blow to the head early in last Sunday’s Jets game. This year’s fourth-round receiver Vince Mayle was already released and his free agent signings, specifically that of Dwayne Bowe, are not panning out. By pulling off a Trent Richardson-esque trade with the Cowboys for Manziel, he may have earned a stay of execution. Of course, it didn’t work out that way for his predecessors, but that’s the risk you take. If he stays and winds up playing horribly, Farmer’s skids out of town will be greased even further.
