6.) LB Joe Schobert
The last player on this list also comes from the Browns 2016 NFL Draft. Schobert has a big role to fill this season compared to last season. Last season he was asked to make plays as a special teams specialist, with 14 of his 28 tackles occurring on special teams.
He did get four starts at linebacker last year but with the team trading Demario Davis in the offseason and Tank Carder suffering a season ending knee injury, Schobert will move from a special teams player to not only being the starting middle linebacker but the only middle linebacker currently on the 53 man roster.
Cleveland has struggled to stop the run in recent years and Schobert is going to be expected to have an impact on that. With a copious amount of draft picks again in 2018, this season can be a deciding factor on if Schobert can be a starter going forward or if the team will need to address the position next year.
I thought Schobert had the best game week one of any Browns player. He led the team with nine tackles, had good coverage on several passing plays, and seemed to be in on a lot of plays all over the field.
If he continues that level of play, Cleveland will be set up with a strong linebacking core of Collins, Kirksey, and Schobert that will be in place for a while.
