5.) OT Shon Coleman
Seventeen. The Browns allowed seventeen more sacks than the closest team to them in 2016.
Allowing one more sack per game than any other team will get your QB hurt and that has been a trend in Cleveland. After allowing Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz to leave in free agency, the front office realized that was probably a big mistake after watching the play of that offensive line last season.
This offseason they brought in JC Tretter and Kevin Zeitler to help shore up the line with Joe Thomas and Joel Bitonio on the left side. After trading Cam Erving to Kansas City, Shon Coleman is the starter at right tackle. Coleman only played in seven games as a rookie last year and did not start a single game.
With young QB DeShone Kizer at QB, Coleman is being thrust into a big spot at the right side. He is going to have to handle his own against some of the best pass rushers in the NFL without a lot of experience.. Keeping Kizer upright is critical to his success and Coleman is the biggest question mark to that.
As a team, the Browns allowed seven sacks week one with Coleman being beat for two of those sacks. Keep an eye on how he performs this season. If he struggles RT will be a big priority next season.
