The Cavs traveled to Orlando Friday night and blew out the Magic, with arguably their most impressive all-around game of the season, winning 111-76.
It was the season debut for shooting guard Iman Shumpert, who had been out for two months with a wrist injury.
J.R. Smith did not play due to illness, so Jared Cunningham filled in at starting shooting guard, while Shumpert came off the bench.
The Cavs got out to a nice start, leading by as many as ten early in the game, but Orlando would fight back to make it 22-20 in favor of Cleveland after one quarter of play.
LeBron James had an impressive first half, scoring 20 points, including a pair of layups late in the second quarter which turned into three point plays after drawing contact.
The Cavs led by 19 with the clock winding down at the end of the second quarter, but Nikola Vucevic hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to make it 53-37 at halftime.
Cleveland would come out of halftime firing on all cylinders, outscoring the Magic 30-15 in the third quarter, entering the fourth ahead 83-52.
The beat down would continue as the Cavs rolled through the fourth quarter playing their second unit.
James Jones erupted from three-point land in the fourth, putting up 15 points, including four shots made from beyond the arc.
LeBron finished with 25 points, eight assists, and four steals in just 29 minutes of action.
Timofey Mozgov had his best night of the season, as he has been struggling to start the 2015-2016 campaign, and put up 17 points on the night.
Shumpert had a productive night off the bench in his season-debut, scoring 14 points.
The Cavs improve to 15-7 on the season and head to Boston to take on the Celtics Tuesday night, in a rematch of the first round of the 2015 playoffs. The last time the two teams met was when Celtics’ big man Kelly Olynyk injured Kevin Love, sidelining him for the remainder of the postseason.
