The Browns release of their announcement of their 2018 training camp on Tuesday brought with it an interesting development in regard to the mascot that some fans have been calling for the team to adopt for years.
That mascot is the Brownie Elf, otherwise known as “Brownie the Elf,” appears on the masthead of the announcement this year for the dates of training camp.

It’s a mascot that some fans have been clamoring for the team to bring in more as a representation for the franchise, and the Elf is even a mascot dressed up at Browns home games much like ‘Slider’ for the Indians.
The Elf was a fixture for the Browns starting in 1946 when the franchise was born. He first appeared on the covers of the Browns media guides (1946-49) in the All-America Football Conference.
There was plenty of fan react on Twitter when the Browns tweeted out about camp and the Elf was included in the announcement.
