The Guardians hosted the Red Sox over the weekend for a three-game series. Mother nature didn’t cooperate for Friday’s game. The rain postponed the game landing a double header on Saturday’s schedule.
Guardians win Game One 5-4
Ben Lively was on the bump for the Guards in the first game of the double header. Lively didn’t factor in the decision after allowing multiple home runs in a start for the first time since August of last year. He exited the game tied at 4-4 after pitching five innings, allowing six hits and four runs.

Jose Ramirez went 2-for4 – hitting safely in 10 of his last 13 games. During that span Ramirez had 5 multi-hit games. He swiped a bag in the 1st inning setting him at two steals away from becoming the first player in franchise history with 250+ home runs and 250+ stolen bases.
Steven Kwan recorded his 10th multi-hit game of the season extending his hit streak to eight-straight games.
Guardians fall to Red Sox in Game Two 7-3
Doug Nikhazy made his major league debut pitching in the second game of the double header. Shouldering the loss, Nikhazy struggled to keep runners off the bases. His six walks issued were the most by any Guards starter this season. He made it through three innings, allowing six runs on five hits and fanning three batters.

Angel Martinez opened up the scoring for Cleveland in the 4th inning. He has hit safely in 10 of his 13 games since being called up to the bigs on April 9.
Jhonkensy Noel hit a two-run shot to left field snapping a drought of 104 plate appearances without a home run.
Steven Kwan recorded his 2nd multi-hit game of the day hitting safely in 9-straight games. Since April 10, his 24 hits lead the majors ahead of Aaron Judge (23) and Francisco Lindor (23) at the conclusion of Saturday night’s game.
Kolby Allard made his Cleveland debut providing six innings of relief for the Guards. Allowing just one run on six hits Allard gave the Guardians bullpen a much-needed breather.
Red Sox trounce Guards in Game Three by a score of 13-3
On Sunday, Cleveland lost back-to-back games for the first time since April 16-17. Logan Allen suffered his second loss of the season after matching career highs in both runs (7) and hits allowed (9). Snapping a 3-start stretch in which he posted a 0.56 ERA with Cleveland winning each of those three outings. The Guardians were plagued with errors committing four in the outing.
Players to mention:
Steven Kwan extended his hit streak to a season-high 10-straight games since April 17, a stretch in which he is batting
.400.
Nolan Jones hit a 3-run homer off Brayan Bello in the bottom of the 6th inning marking his first homer in his
