The MAC Women’s Basketball league plays its final regular season week starting Wednesday. There are still several stories to follow to see how these last two games will have a bearing on the seedings going into the tournament that starts on Wednesday, March 12th in Cleveland at the Rocket Arena.

The No. 1 seed is the Ball State Cardinals, and barring any surprises, they should maintain that ranking going to Cleveland. They currently hold a 14-2 conference mark, which is two games better than Buffalo Bulls or the Toledo Rockets, who are both 12-4 in conference play.

It’ll be interesting to see how Ball State does at the tournament. They last won the tournament in 2009. They’ve been doing so well in conference play until about two weeks ago and have stumbled to the finish line.

Both Buffalo and Toledo are the two hottest teams in the league. Toledo holds the tiebreaker on seedings if both teams end up with the same conference record because the Rockets swept the two games against the Bulls earlier in the season.

However, Toledo may have the toughest last two games of the top seeds this week. They go on the road in both games, first out to Northern Illinois on Wednesday and then to Kent State on Saturday.

Buffalo has to go on the road to play Ball State on Wednesday and then finishes at home against Western Michigan.

Kent State (11-5) looks to lock up the No. 4 seed going to Cleveland. However, they have two tough games. First, a road game against Bowling Green and then a home game against Toledo.

They have Miami(OH) (10-6) closing fast, who could steal the No.4 seed from the Golden Flashes. The Redhawks of Miami have two home games, first against Central Michigan and then a game against Northern Illinois.

Based on current records, here are the potential MAC Tourney seedings and bracket for quarterfinal games scheduled for next Wednesday, March 12th, at Rocket Arena in Cleveland.
