3. Coming Home
This latest road trip can be described in one simple word – ugly.
The Tribe, following winning three out of four against the Bad News A’s proceeded to go on the road against the Royals and Rockies and drop four out of five.
Ouch.
It happened with a shutout Friday, a trouncing on Saturday, their only win Sunday, and then two bad games in Colorado to a Rockies team that while playing better than expected in 2017, is a team that is just three games over .500 at home.
It’s been the same mind numbing thing over and over with this Indians team, and it’s the reason why many think they are going to falter in the end. They can’t get consistent and get on a roll like they did back in 2016 when they took over the division with a long win streak and maintained that level of play into the World Series.
Now they will come home for a homestand that will see them take on the White Sox, who they should take advantage of being six games under .500 entering play Wednesday and back in fourth in the division, and the Dodgers, who are a contender in the NL West behind the Rockies, a game and a half back.
Is there going to be a point either where this team turns the corner for good? Or is this inconsistent bunch going to wallow in their up and down play all season?
Only they can answer that question.
